On September 29, a small number of people gathered at the toppled Lenin statue in Kharkov to pay their respects and to protest at its destruction. Very quickly they were attacked by groups of fascist thugs who threw firecrackers and smoke grenades at the crowd.
When some in the crowd attempted to confront the fascist thugs there were attacked in an extremely violent fashion. The police remained passive throughout.
The day before, during the toppling of the statue a man who protested against was also subject to a brutal attack. Warning, this video shows extreme graphic violence, we publish it to illustrate the mood of those who toppled the statue:
