On June 24, about 40 people blocked the traffic on the 125 km of the Kiev – Chop road in the Zhymotyr region in Western Ukraine. Protesters demanded that local troops participating in the “anti terrorist operation” in the East should be brought back. The report from 112.ua (quoting Ministry of the Interior sources) explained that soldiers’ relatives blocked the road at 9 am and continuously move through the crosswalk, holding placards reading “Bring back our children, send generals’ children to the East” as well as the flags of Ukraine.
This is not the first time residents of Zhytomyr region block the road. In early June, about 40 people blocked the Zhytomyr-Mogilev-Podolsky highhway to show their discontent with the army deployment.
